Fraternity History

In the Beginning...
Delta Sigma Pi was founded at the School of Commerce, Accounts and Finance of New York University on November 7, 1907. The four founding fathers were Alexander Frank Makay, Alfred Moysello, Henry Albert Tienken, and Harold Valentine Jacobs. Nearly two years later, the Alpha chapter was officially recognized at New York University. In 1914, the Beta chapter was established in the evening division of Northwestern University. Through 1924, thirty more chapters were added and Delta Sigma Pi was a national fraternity. The fraternity grew quickly until World War II, when students became scarce.

The Central Office was established in 1924 at 222 West Adams Street in Chicago, Illinois. It remained there for thirty years. In the fall of 1956, it moved to 330 South Campus Avenue in Oxford, Ohio.
